The Board Meeting will commence on Thursday, December 8, 2022, at 1:30 p.m. and conclude ‎at 5:30 p.m. local time (Eastern Time) in the Bonaventure Ballroom.

The meeting will be held at Holiday Inn Savannah Historic District in Savannah, Georgia. To register, click the hotel registration button below. Please use code “UCR” when booking online or call (912) 790-1000, Option #1. The deadline for making your reservation is Tuesday, November 15, 2022. After that ‎date, you may no longer be eligible to receive UCR’s negotiated rate.‎

Please note that this does not exempt you from registering with UCR, but does impact the fees you are obligated to pay. According to the UCR Handbook ‎‎(page 30):‎

‎"Some motor carriers or freight forwarders may operate only vehicles that are not classified as ‎commercial motor vehicles, typically because the vehicles are lighter or carry fewer passengers than ‎vehicles included in the definition of the term commercial motor vehicle. Such a business must register ‎for UCR because these entities have a federal MC number. Because the MC numbers are generated in ‎the federal URS system, a USDOT number will also be issued, but it would ordinarily pay a UCR fee in ‎the lowest bracket, because it operates no commercial motor vehicles."‎

Please note that this does not exempt you from registering with UCR. According to the UCR Handbook ‎‎(page 30):‎

If these lightweight vehicles pull trailers in interstate commerce and the gross combination weight ‎rating or gross combination weight is 10,001 or more, the entity will account for all of these ‎commercial motor vehicles and pay the applicable fee. ‎

Private Carrier of Passengers

You are NOT required to register with UCR since you are considered a Private Carrier of Passengers. This most often applies to churches, schools, and businesses transporting their own employees.

Intrastate Commerce

You are NOT required to register with UCR since you are engaged in Intrastate Commerce, or the transportation of goods or passengers within a single state.

For-Hire Passenger Motor Carrier

You are considered a “For-Hire Passenger Motor Carrier” and ARE REQUIRED to register with UCR. Please visit https://www.ucr.gov to begin the registration process.

Exempt

You are exempt and do not need to register with UCR.
